Our own cozy village, & dependable snow
Some things have evolved at Mont Sutton since it opened in 1960 — high-speed chairlifts, excellent snow-making, an expanded network of groomed runs. Yet much has stayed the same by design: the cozy ambiance, traditional wood architecture, wide-open glades for every level from novice through expert, and a micro-climate that consistently delivers abundant, natural snowfall.
We arrive in the village of Sutton on the evening of Sunday, March 7th, then spend the next two days on the trails and glades at Mont Sutton — March 8th & 9th. On March 10th, after breakfast and check-out, we shuttle 30 minutes to Ski Bromont for a final day across its network of 123 trails, with a half-hour head start already banked on the drive home to Ottawa.
Hotel Horizon sits just two kilometres from Mont Sutton, a quick hop on the Snowhawks motor coach. It has beautifully furnished rooms, a restaurant/bistro, and an indoor pool — and Snowhawks fills the hotel entirely, making it ours for three nights. Hotel rooms come with either a King bed or a Queen plus bunk bed, sleeping two to three. The adjacent cabins each have two bedrooms, a small kitchen, and a wood stove — roomier, but WiFi doesn't reach them.

Single-occupancy Hotel Rooms are very limited. Singles may prefer a 2-bedroom Cabin shared with another guest of their choice — or Snowhawks can help match Hotel Room-mates or Cabin-mates. Each bedroom is separate, with closed door.

Motor coach travel departs Ottawa Sunday afternoon and returns Wednesday evening. A U-Drive/No-bus option is available at a discount once our motor coach quota is reached. At that point, those selecting "U-Drive" during registration may be refunded $120 + HST.
