Highlights of our 4-day skiing or snowboarding March Break camp at two nearby Gatineau ski centres — Mon–Thu, March 15-18, 2027.

Local Hills & Variety

Ski or snowboard four days across two great local mountains — Mt Cascades (Cantley) and Sommet Edelweiss (Wakefield), for a fun mix of terrain close to home.

The March Break Traveller includes motor coach travel, lift tickets, half-day lessons at all levels in small groups (full-day for grades 1 through 4 or 5 and all beginners), or select the no-lesson option for intermediate and advanced skiers & snowboarders in grades 5 and up. Plus lots of special events and FUN, FUN, FUN. Great variety of terrain too: Ski or snowboard four days (Monday - Thursday) at a mix of Mt Cascades & Sommet Edelweiss, and enjoy continuity of learning with the same Snowhawks instructor each day.

- Dates & destinations may change based on road or weather conditions or other situations beyond Snowhawks’ control. - If an outing is cancelled or postponed, later outings usually continue as planned and the missed day is made up by adding a March Break Friday. - If a member cannot attend a scheduled make-up day, they may bring a guest on another day (subject to space) or make up the day (no Beginners). - Missed make-up days are not refundable and cannot be carried to another year.

Open to ages 6 to 11. Experience a taste of the full Performance Academy experience — condensed into four days over March Break. Whether you're thinking about joining the full Saturday or Sunday program next season, or you're a current Performance Academy skier keeping your edge sharp over the break, this is the upgrade for you. You'll train in a small dedicated group alongside a certified coach for all four days, with the same focus on carving, speed development, and technical progression that defines the full-season program — just in a March Break format. Who It's For? - Skiers curious about joining the full Performance Academy on Saturdays or Sundays next season — this is the ideal way to try it first - Current Performance Academy participants who want to stay sharp and keep progressing over March Break - Advanced recreational skiers who want more than a standard lesson group and are ready for a higher coaching standard What to Expect? - Small dedicated group (max 5:1) with a certified coach across all four days - Training focused on carving, control, and speed — the same foundations as the full-season program - Certified ACA & CSIA coaches from Ottawa Sports Alpine Club, our high-performance coaching program under Alpine Access Corp. Thinking about next season? Completing the Spring Break Performance Academy puts you in a strong position to join the full Saturday or Sunday program in the fall. Spring Break Traveller General FAQs Bus Questions Instruction Equipment & Clothing Lunches & Snacks

Absolutely no experience needed — beginners are fully welcome on the Spring Break Traveller! First-timers are placed in dedicated beginner groups with expert Snowhawks instructors who specialize in getting new riders comfortable and confident on snow. Beginners receive full-day lessons across all four days so there's plenty of time to progress. By Thursday, most first-timers are riding independently and loving it. Just select your child's ability level honestly at registration and we'll take care of the rest.

The no-lesson option is available to riders in grade 5 and up, but ability level matters just as much as grade. To qualify, your child must be at an intermediate or advanced level — meaning they can comfortably ride green and blue runs independently, stop and turn with control, and manage themselves safely on the hill without instructor supervision. The no-lesson option is not available to beginners or near-beginners regardless of grade. This isn't just a program policy — it's a safety requirement. Our mountains include varied terrain and our groups move around the hill throughout the day. A rider who isn't fully confident and in control creates risk for themselves and others around them. If you're unsure whether your child qualifies, continue with the included lesson option at registration. Our instructors assess every rider on Day 1 and if your child is clearly ready to ride independently, we can discuss adjusting from there. When in doubt, the lesson option is always the right call — and there's no shame in it. Even strong riders often pick up new skills they didn't expect.
